CdSe thin films were prepared by a chemical bath deposition on glass substrates during the growing process at 70◦C.Nine different films were obtained depending of the conditions of growing. The optical characterization shown bandgap upper than 1.74 reported for the CdSe at ambient temperature. This is common in luminescent materials due to the size of the nanoparticles. In our case, we found nanorods of different sizes in the range of 10 nm at 60 nm depending of the growing conditions. We observed fotoluminescent peaks near to 600 and 800 nm, indicating that this thin film is good for infrared applications.
