Mg-Al-Ni alloys were prepared in urea-acetamide-NaBr low temperature molten salts by electrodeposition method. The results show that Mg2+ could not be electrochemically reduced in this molten salt independently. However, it could be co-deposits with Ni. Effects of electrodeposition parameters such as temperature and electrodeposition time on the composition and microstructure of coatings were investigated. Also, the kinetic process was investigated using electrochemical methods.
