Chitosan and maltodextrin based diamond paste sensors were design, and characterized for the assay of HER-2 a biomarker for breast cancer.

The “signatures” of HER-2 were recorded for each stochastic sensor, and further used to identify these analytes on the patterns obtained when whole blood was screened. Quantitative analysis was also performed using these sensors. The results obtained using the proposed sensors were correlating very well with those obtained using the standard methods used in clinical analysis (e.g., ELISA).
