Solvent-Free Reactions of p-Extended Pyrroles with Aromatic Aldehydes Leading to New Organic Chromophores

Solvent-free reactions of pyrroles with extended p-systems and substituted aromatic aldehydes have led to a series of new organic chromophores. These compounds display electronic transitions in the visible region of the spectrum with relatively high molar absorptivities along with intense emission spectra.
