ABSTRACT WITHDRAWN

In the present communication a carbon paste electrode modified with Citrus limon peel was presented which shows enhanced activity toward metal determination in aqueous samples. Carbon Paste Electrode was prepared by mixing Graphite Powder, Nujol and Citrus Limon Peel. Prepared Carbon Paste Electrode was characterized using Cyclic Voltammetry, Electrochemical impedance study, Atomic Force Microscopy. Stripping voltammetry using differential pulse as input wave was used for metal determination. The performance of this new metal sensor was optimized for different preparation and experimental conditions. Different experimental conditions optimized are 12.5 % modifier, Acetate buffer as supporting electrolyte with pH 6, HCl as stripping solvent and 15 min accumulation time. The effect of surface active macro molecules was also studied. Enhancement in metal determination has been observed with the modified electrode for Pb (II) and Cd (II) as compared to the bare CPE. The limit of detection values observed are 64.4 ppb for Cd (II).
