This talk deals with the plasmonic metal-semiconductor composites for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution. The plasmon-induced photocatalysis enhancement of metal-semiconductor composites can be realized via different processes: light absorption and light scattering, plasmonic hot electron transfer and resonance energy transfer. These processes are enabled by effective coupling between the plasmonic metal and the semiconductor, which is determined by the materials or/and structure of metal-semiconductor composites.
