The presenter will update his 1995 presentation [ECS Vol. 95-19], which he presented in accepting the 1995 Carl Wagner Award of the ECS. A lot has happened since 1995, but the basics of high-rate EC dissolution processes are still there. As in 1995, I will try to show that these fundamental processes are not only important for High Rate Dissolution, but to many other areas of electrochemical science and technology as well [corrosion, semiconductors, electro-deposition, electro-synthesis and industrial elecrolytics, organic-electrochemistry, etc.]. I will draw upon my 45+ years in the field to highlight what I think are the parallels between the different areas, and how the potentially significant benefits of "cross-fertilization of knowledge" from different EC disciplines needs to be considered at least a bit seriously for maximum benefit.
