Hexabenzocoronene (HBC) is a very interesting building block in terms of structural and electronic properties.[1] We have recently started to look into conjugates with the HBC moiety directly linked to a meso-position of the porphyrin.

Here, we wish to report on the synthesis, characterization, and properties of some of these novel systems.[2,3]
