This talk will introduce the charge transfer and the energy transfer processes in the plasmonic metal-semiconductor heterojunctions. It will discuss the factors that govern the occurrence and transfer efficiency of both the processes. It will show our effort to improve the photoconversion efficiency of the heterojunctions by utilizing both the charge transfer and the energy transfer processes. The presentation will also deal the theoretical maximum efficiency that can be achieved by the plasmonic metal-semiconductor heterojunctions.
