Exhibit Hall H (San Diego Convention Center)
The talk will focus on the applications of electrochemistry and nanotechnology for the synthesis and characterisation of electro-catalysts used in fuel cells. Electrochemical methods such as, Electrochemical Atomic Layer Epitaxy (EC-ALE) and Electrochemical Atomic Layer Deposition (EC-ALD) are being explored for synthesis as other potential techniques used in the improvement of PGM based electro-catalysts for proton electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs). Synthesis and characterisation of these electro-catalysts (nanostructured/ nanomaterials), including their proposed application in fuel cells, will be discussed as part of the talk. The connection of the electro-catalysis work to alkaline direct alcohol fuel cells (DAFCs) with focus on micro fuel cells and anionic membrane development will also be highlighted.
