Advanced of nanomaterials have opened up the probability and prospect for sensing of DNA molecules with higher sensitivity and selectivity. Nanomaterials based biosensors have received huge attention due to its unique physio-chemical properties and provide DNA sensing platform in the field of biodiagnostices analysis. It is increasingly important in molecular diagnostics, species authentication, pathogen detection, forensic investigation and environmental monitoring. Therefore, both the single-wall (SWCNTs) and multi-wall (MWCNTs) carbon nanotubes have exhibit its outstanding potentiality for bimolecular sensing because of its unique mechanical, thermal, optical, and electrical properties. Thus, an overview is described here about recent advancement of DNA sensing platform using carbon nanotubes (CNTs) biomaterials.
