Phenol (Phen), o-, m- and p-chlorophenol (ClPhen) were electrochemically degraded using a boron doped diamond (BDD) electrode and a composite of Fe3O4 nanoparticles (NPs) and chitosan (CS). Results showed that it was possible to remove Phen, o-, m- and p-ClPhen in synthetic sample by hydroxyl radicals generated during the electrokinetic remediation using BDD||Fe3O4 NPs + CS |Ti in major proportion than BDD||Ti. Additionally, using BDD||Fe3O4 NPs + CS |Ti was possible to obtain 84.92 % of the COD removal and less than 68 % to ClPhens applying a 23 mA current for 4h in acid conditions (H2SO4).
