Undergraduate research, which is considered a high-impact practice in higher education, has been shown to provide an enriching educational experience to students. Undergraduate research provides students with an opportunity to engage in hands-on activities and allows them to develop potential solutions to real-world problems. It has been demonstrated that students who participate in undergraduate research significantly improve their critical thinking and communication skills and are more satisfied with their overall educational experience.

My presentation will focus on recruitment strategies for undergraduate researchers, different categories of research projects, and the successes and challenges associated with undergraduate research. Specifically, my talk will focus on the teaching of electrochemistry and discuss the scope of possible electrochemistry-based research at a primarily undergraduate institution.
