Activated carbon promote electrocatalytic oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) through oxygen containing active sites. However, the exact nature of the active site are still undiscovered. Here, we report well defined Carbon nanodots as promoters of the electrocatalytic ORR on activated carbons. Activated carbons were decorated with carbon nanodots and used as electrodes for ORR. Kinetics of ORR were studied using rotating electrodes and thermodynamic parameters were extracted at varying temperature.
