(Keynote, Digital Presentation) Commercial Opportunities for Unusual Micro/Nanoscale Semiconductor Technologies

Tuesday, 31 May 2022: 14:00
West Meeting Room 202 (Vancouver Convention Center)
J. Rogers (Northwestern University)
Recent advances in materials science and manufacturing methods establish the foundations for technologies that embed large, addressable arrays of micro/nanoscale semiconductor components distributed on unusual substrates, from plates of glass to sheets of rubber. The results create interesting opportunities for devices with applications that span consumer gadgetry and home entertainment equipment to advanced medical wearables and neurotechnologies for neuroscience research to hardware for brain-machine interfaces. This talk summarizes the key ideas and the current technology status, with various examples of current and future products.
