Super lithium ion capacitor (SLIC) is a hybrid energy storage system containing functionalities derived from lithium ion batteries and electric double-layer capacitors. The energy storage in the electric double layer plays an important role and depends on the microstructure of the electrodes and the interfacial morphology at the electrolyte/electrodes interfaces. Although numerical models based on the real structure of electrodes by 3D microstructure reconstruction technique can help us to understand the influences of microstructure on the energy storage performance of SLIC, these models are time assuming.
In this respect, we develop a Multiple Particles Model based on Single Particle Model issued by Ralph E. White. This moel is characteristiced with multiple active materials. Using this model, some electrochemical properties under galvanostatic charge/discharge behavior as well as AC-impedance behavior and rapid current pulses are in real time obtained.
