Lithium lanthanum zirconate (LLZO) with the garnet crystal structure has high lithium ion conductivity and good electrochemical stability, so it is an attractive material for use as the solid electrolyte in lithium ion batteries.  One of the challenges in the application of LLZO is processing the material to obtain the desired composition, crystal structure and morphology.  In this paper, results on processing of LLZO materials for use in single-phase and composite solid electrolyte materials are presented.
