The recent development of aqueous two-phase extraction (ATPE) as a method for separating single-wall carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) provides a scalable method for isolating many individual species of SWCNT via solution processing.  Systematic investigation of ATPE separation utilizing different combinations of surfactants, co-surfactants, polymers, and salts has revealed methods for isolating individual species of nanotubes up to > 1.2 nm in diameter.  In this presentation I will provide an update on our separation results using surfactant(s) and on understanding achieved through temperature controlled partitioning experiments on pre-separated samples.
