During my leacture I will show recent examples of how to modify the interface between semiconductor  nanocrystals and organic materials and the ffects over the interfacial charge transfer reactions occurring upon photoexcitation. The lecture will also illustrate the use of  “click-chemistry”  to modify the surface of the semiconductor nanocrystal as a versatil approach to attach covalently molecules to the semiconductor surface. The results of CdSe-C60 quantum dots polymer bulk-heterojunction solar cells will be shown. The CdSe-C60/P3HT solar cells shows 3 times higher light-to-energy conversion efficiency than CdSe/P3HT  using pyridine as capping agent.
