Room 303 (Washington State Convention Center)
In this talk, I will be sharing the recent successes of our laboratories in developing smart sensors to address industry challenges. Formed in 2017, our Agri-Chem group at CQUniversity brings the collective expertise of sensor chemists, antifouling experts, analytical chemists, near- and mid-infrared experts and livestock specialists towards analytical detection. We are able to design sensors for monitoring animal welfare at the farm level as well as throughout the supply chain. Similarly, we are interested in biosensing platforms for early detection of serious medical conditions, for example Parkinson’s disease. My talk will also include our interest in partnering with the Queensland Government and the Commonwealth of Australia in protecting of the world’s greatest living natural wonder – the Great Barrier Reef, using smart nutrient probes. The presentation will be of interest to analytical and electrochemists as well as early career researchers who are interested in smart sensing applications with a view to develop their research background in Australia.
