Covalent chemistry of semiconducting carbon nanotubes has emerged recently as a new tool to engineer and control photofunctional nanosystems down to the level of single molecular defects. Here, we report on our recent results obtained with photoluminescence and magnetoluminescence spectroscopy of individual defect-modified carbon nanotubes at cryogenic temperatures.
