Syntheses and Optoelectronic Applications of Porphyrins and Porphyrinoids

Pyrrole based linear oligopyrroles, porphyrins and porphyrinoids have exhibited rich structural diversity and interesting properties applicable in a variety of fields.1 We have synthesized novel linear oligopyrroles and porphyrinoids, and applied them as fluorescent sensors for detecting ions with biochemical and environmental relevance.2 Meanwhile, We have synergistically improved the photovoltage and photocurrent of dye-sensitized solar cells by optimizing the porphyrin dye structures in combination with an effective co-sensitization approach, thus achieving a high photovoltaic efficiency of 11.5%.3
