ABSTRACT WITHDRAWN

Developing photocatalysts working from ultraviolet (UV) to near-infrared (NIR) region is a challenge. To improve the absorption to the visible and NIR lights, and to enhance the photocatlytic activity, we focus on researches in two aspects: (1) Fine-tuning the morphology of the component materials to expose the active facets, form successive surface heterojunction or phase junction. (2) Composing the wide band-gap semiconductors with narrow band-gap semiconductors, plasmonic Au nanoparticles or nanorods, and NIR absorbing black phosphorus. The thus obtained polynary composites could make full use of solar energy to photocatalytically release H2 from water.
