Previous studies have shown that polymer-polymer aqueous two-phase systems are very effective for DNA-wrapped SWCNTs sorting. Here we report that polymer-salt systems are also very effective. In some of the new aqueous polymer-salt two-phase systems, we can easily obtain pure SWCNTs of certain chirality from the top phase by just one-step extraction. By continuously changing the composition of the system, certain SWCNTs can also be purified from the bottom phase without using extra modulating agent. Since the polymer-salt system contains only one kind of polymer, it can greatly increase the flexibility in designing sorting processes to meet the application needs of sorted SWCNTs.
