Lithium metal anode is considered to be ultimate anode material because of its high theoretical specific capacity(3860mAh/g) and low redox potential(-3.04V vs H/H+). However, lithium metal suffers from dendrite growth and low coulombic efficiency. Lithium metal powder synthesized by droplet emulsion technique has 6 times higher surface area than lithium foil. So it can lower the effective current density thus prevent the dendrite growth. However, low coulombic efficiency still exists due to unstable Solid Electrolyte Interphase(SEI) layer. Here in, we propose a stable artificial protection layer to lithium powder anode by using perchloroethylene(PCE). PCE reacts with LiOH which is naturally passivated on lithium surface. Then, LiCl nanoparticle within the polymer matrix will form on the surface and act as a high lithium conducting, flexible artificial layer. The structure, morphology, and electrochemical properties will be investigated by the implementation of X-ray diffraction (XRD), field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM), transmission electron microscope (TEM), and energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS). The result was analyzed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS).
