There is a strong motivation to develop new chemical processes for the sustainable production of fuels and chemicals. Key to these chemical transformations are catalysts that can operate with the necessary activity, selectivity, and stability. This talk will focus on materials discovery and development efforts to design, synthesize, and investigate new classes of materials that show promise in catalyzing electrochemical and photo-electrochemical (PEC) reactions of interest. Topics include H2 production from water-splitting, the production of C-based products from the conversion of CO2, and H2O2 production from O2.
