Computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are currently two major techniques for diagnosis of traumatic brain injury (TBI). However, b it is impossible to have all TBI patients to be screened by CT or MRI when patients visit the emergency department. There is a critical need to develop point-of-care tools for screening TBI rapidly in the emergency department or in the pre-hospital settings. This presentation demonstrates a paper-based test strip as a point-care tool for detecting protein biomarkers in blood plasma samples.
