Authors and readers of articles expect that ECS journals publish and disseminate content to specialized and more general communities within their technical domain. The technical domain is determined by the specific ECS Division and is manifested in the Topical Interest Area within which the article is published. This presentation will describe the various article types published by ECS journals along with reasons for their existence. The impact that article types such as focus issues can have and are having on the visibility and recognition of ECS and of Divisions like LDM, will be discussed.
