Current status of fuel cell systems research and development for automobile application will be reported in this presentation. Fuel cell vehicles (FCVs) are expected as the one of electric motor driven vehicles and will be adapted to passenger vehicle to heavy duty tracks in advantage of cruising range with hydrogen tanks than battery electric vehicles. Fuel Cell systems still has some tasks for mass commercialization. Some approaches of improvement of fuel cell system performance, durability and reliability are developed and discussed in this presentation.
