ABSTRACT WITHDRAWN

The electrolytes play an important role in the multivalent batteries. Here we will report the development of a series of new electrolytes for magnesium batteries. The electrolyte has a high coulombic efficiency for Mg plating/dissolution and can be stable up to 2.8 V vs Mg. The preparation and characterization of the new electrolytes will be presented, including the syntheses, multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, the hypothesis of the product formation, the electrochemical characterization such as ionic conductivities and transport numbers. The capabilities of the electrolyte with Chevrel Phase Mo6S8 and other cathodes will also be discussed.
