In this work, thin films of CdTe were electrodeposited onto Au substrates at room temperature from aqueous precursor. Different methods of deposition were used to form the high quality films, including co-deposition, electrochemical atomic layer deposition (E-ALD) and rectangular potential pulse electrodeposition. The pulse mode parameters were varied and the effect on the ratio of Cd/Te and crystallinity was observed. XRD patterns of the films show a sharp peak corresponding to single crystalline cubic CdTe (111). The photoelectric behavior of CdTe films was also studied using a photo electrochemical cell (PEC). A CdTe Schottky Barrier Solar Cell with Ag as a Schottky Barrier (SB) contact and Au as Ohmic contact was also fabricated and characterized. Preliminary results on the formation and characteristics will be discussed from all the respects that mentioned above.
