Government agencies are developing and implementing policies in response to the 2013 OSTP memo regarding public access to publications and data generated from federally funded research. In 2015, NIH released its plan in response to the memo and has been establishing priorities for data sharing. Learn more about the evolution of NIH’s plans and priorities, future policy directions for data management and sharing, as well as activities in open science. Also hear about the importance of data sharing for research and the opportunities and challenges associated with it, as well as other activities in open science including the Interagency Working Group on Open Science (a subgroup of the White House National Science and Technology Council’s Committee on Science.
